Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Lactation Consultant right for me?

Yes, in most cases a lactation consultant is the right person to help you with your infant feeding needs. I specialize in all things breast/chest, and infant feeding. Ranging from latching and positioning, pumping, bottle feeding, painful feeding, and everything in between.

Can a Lactation Consultant help me with bottle feeding?

Yes, I can help you with bottle feeding. Whether it's how much, how often, how to pace feed, or a multitude of other topics.

Is it too late to meet with a Lactation Consultant?

No, it is never too late to speak with a lactation consultant. I meet you where you are in your breastfeeding journey and help you get to your goals for feeding your baby.

Do you take Insurance?

Not yet; however, I will provide you with an itimized receipt called a Superbill that you can give to your insurance company for reimbursement.*

*The Affordable Care Act (ACA) mandates that insurance providers cover lactation services without any cost sharing to its members.

What if I can’t afford lactation services?

I understand that sometimes times are tough. Please contact me and we can figure out a way to get you the help you need.

Will one consultation be enough to solve all my issues and answer all my questions?

It depends. Sometimes babies are fussy during the visit, or a follow-up may be needed based on your unique situation. During our initial visit we will create a care plan that will help you reach your goals. After creating the care plan we will discuss if a follow-up visit is needed.

We will do our best to answer all your questions during the consult. You will likely have more questions after the consult is over. If you had a virtual you can also send in questions for up to 1 week after our visit or up to 2 weeks for a home visit.
